Easy pay enrollment without my authorization

I was enrolled in easy pay without authorization. After stating this cannot be done by Cox, the Billing team indeed confirmed to be the case. I was told an escalated individual would call me but never did.

Auto enrollment without authorization is a federal regulatory incident subject to fines and repercussions known as REG B. Look it up.

I’ll be demonstrating my due recourse, particularly because my escalation request was ignored. Simply unacceptable. If this has happened to anyone else please know your rights and realize this is a very big deal.

My apologies, the REG is REG E, not REG B (typo).

Hello rightaboutthen, this is most troubling to hear, and I would be more than happy to look into this escalation.  Please email our team your account details to cox.help@cox.com so that we may investigate.

I tried to remove easy pay and they said they can't remove it so I have to pay in advance so they don't charge a card that no longer exist. Twice they changed me late fees even after I went to cox store and paid my bills in advance of the due date. What a crock of shit.

Hi. You should be able to remove easy pay via the Cox/Spectrum App, via the website or by going to your local Cox retail store. I can understand how frustrated you are about this. I would feel the same way if this happened to me. -Lisa
