I've dealt with Cox for too long than I shouldve. Today just really went too far for me. I was at 500mb and I would never get overcharged for data. Thing was that I would never even get the 500 and maybe float at 250mb or 300 if I get lucky. So they're damn stuff doesn't even work first of all. Then secondly, when I was offered a "promotion" for a gig to 84 dollars a month rather than 106 for 500, it didnt even work properly either. It still doesn't, and now when I called today, they said "due to data overages" WHICH I NEVER HAD because nothing and I MEAN nothing has changed since I switched. Saying I had "spikes" when that's not even true at all. I have graphs of my ISP not changing and for them to say I have spikes? Forget it. Still trying to charge me 136 because of they're scamming ways. I'm so glad I'm moving because the new location offers more than just cox. If you can switch to anything else but cox, do it. Because they love to scam.

There are a number of reasons data usage can go up. Are you watching netflix? 4K shows can use as much as 7gb/hr. I found THAT out after shoulder surgery and I binge watched "The Blacklist" that was over 80 gb a day for over a week. that's a quick ½ a terabyte. Security cameras, Amazon alexa, etc etc, all can chew up data. Working from home, that VPN can tear through your data.
Cox's data usage monitoring system was checked by a 3rd party, and it IS 99.9% accurate. I have been using Cox internet since it was offered, and I love it. Fast and reliable.
