Cox internet bill increased with no notification

After 26 yrs with Cox 1280gb plan, I am now forced to find another Wifi provider.

 My data usage went sky high in Aug & Sept. after months of minimal usage. No Cox rep could tell me why the bar graph only gives percentages or WHAT WAS CAUSING the crazy usage increase. Was then billed $20 for the overage usage. Must now find another provider with unlimited data usage, just to prevent this unethical & unexplained billing policy.
