I didn't know that you could consume a lot of data watching youtube videos all the time. My nieces are on vacation for summer. They use the imac computer and the ipad all the time to watch videos on youtube. We went over our monthly limit of 250GB of data on the preferred plan. That's why I had to upgrade to the Premiere Plan.

Hi Macbookproi5,
It is very possible to eat up alot of the bandwidth by streaming video. The length of the video as well as the quality of the video plays a big part, the higher the quality the more data you're using. Everything that is done over the internet counts as downstream usage or upstream usage. So watching those videos, coupled with regular internet usage can cause you to reach your data limit especially over a 30 day span. Netflix and Hulu have also been major "culprits" (if you will) of people running over their bandwidth limit. An HD movie on Netflix can be in the neighborhood of 7 GB, and that is just for one movie. Upgrading to Premier gives you some more breathing room, not to mention faster internet connection so not a bad move.
