Why does cox want to upgrade my cisco dpc3010?

i got an email from cox saying i need to upgrade my cisco dpc3010 modem to make sure i get the best speed (premier) so theyre sending me a new one so i ordered the free modem upgrade and theyre now sending me a new modem with wifi but i dont think i need the upgrade especially since my speeds are good (50-65 mbps) and i already have a router (netgear r7000).

Well, here's the issue I'm seeing.  I show two accounts that both have your preferred email address listed on them.  I think they want the modem from the other account back and not your DPC3010.

If you already have a DPC3010 I believe you got that upgrade message in error.  By chance do you have more than one account with us?

I dont think we do we opened a new account in our new house but my relatives that live next door have cox internet also, so maybe the upgrade was meant for them?

Also what should i do with the new modem im receiving today, cox wants the modem im using now returned to them
