Why can't I watch USA network shows on the internet ?

I tried going through the USA website and they are having problems with the sign in with your cable/internet provider.  I tried going to the Cox website and after signing in I found there were no listings for USA even though they have the network listed !  I missed the first few episodes of "Satisfaction" and would like to catch up with it but don't know how I can do that now. Any ideas anybody ?  Thank you !

What cable package do you have? Have you tried the link found on this page?

Hi meenwybitch,

Are you able to log into the cox.com website? After you log in through USA it should redirect you to our website. You would log into our website which would verify that you have the service.

Tecknowhelp, I have Cox Advanced TV / Cox High Speed Internet Preferred. I did try the link you gave and after signing in and then clicking on USA and then the "Satisfaction" episode I wanted I was prompted to sign in with my TV provider again though there was no "button" provided in which to do this. When I go through the USA Network site they provide a "button" to sign in with and when i click this I get a message that says I need to upgrade my flash player! I already have the latest flash player. I am running Windows XPsp3 with FireFox 14.0.2 as my browser and Adobe 19.0.0.226 (19.0 r0) as my flash player.

Hi Meenwy,

I was able to log into www.usanetwork.com and play episodes of "Satisfaction" using Chrome. Perhaps try a browser other than FireFox?

Thanks for all the ideas y'all. I got my answer after writing to the USA Network. They told me that they do not support Windows XP which is a shame as there are still a bunch of us "hold outs" out there that do not wish to downgrade to another OS. Oh well ! Can't get no satisfaction....

meen,

Per the Microsoft website: As of 8th April 2014, support and security updates for Windows XP are no longer available, which means your PC may not be secure.

Just how is Cox "gouging us" in this case? Its a flash compatibility issue. Did you want Cox to build the website in a less secure way? Do you think Cox is conspiring with Windows?  LOL

As for OP, maybe try Chrome? It has a integrated Flash plugin which may work better.

Kinda do. You pay for a system to use the internet mostly, then a lot of programs become incompatible. Seems like it would at least be good to use anything for access reasons while you still managed to keep an OS running. Maybe I don't get it.

They become old. Security is a constant cat and mouse game. As people find ways to exploit programs with malware and interception, the people who make them (IE Adobe) patch them to be more secure. The problem is these patches require certain things from the OS to work. So Flash on Windows XP can only be so secure, because it doesn't have some of the updates later OS's have. People who make websites don't want them to compatible with older versions of flash, because of those vulnerabilities.

What I am curious about is why your first assumption that someone is out to gouge you? I am a big believer of Occam's razor. To accuse someone of something before, as you admit, it's possible you don't get it, seems odd to me.

Thanks for clarifying that to me. After reading up on Occam's razor, you enlightened me as to my short shortsightedness, it makes perfect sense.

Your honest and mature response now makes me feel bad I even brought it up.  Feel free to come back any time.
