Ideally you'll want to use the wireless in the gateway device provided if at all possible. I'm not sure what router you have however ours features wireless-AC capability. If you still need to use your own router you'll want to disable the wireless radio in our device and configure yours to be an access point only.

Our gateway devices don't support bridged mode so you'll basically want to disable the wireless in our device and disable the router functions in yours if you want to connect it. There may be an AP mode setting in the Netgear units that reconfigures it for you to be used with another router.
