What do you guys recommend for a docsis 3.0 modem?

I'm actually under the preferred plan right now.

There are different requirements and different recommendations for different situations.

For self-installations, DOCSIS 3.0 modems are required for Premier and above, and recommended for everything else.
For new installations with phone service, we're installing only DOCSIS 3.0 EMTAs with Preferred or above. DOCSIS 2.0 EMTAs can still be installed on lower tiers, but will eventually disappear from inventory anyway.
If you have to replace an existing modem for any reason, there's no reason not to get a DOCSIS 3.0.

Already at 25mbits in some markets, Preferred is edging toward the 38mbit speed limit of DOCSIS 2.0.
