After doing some research, it seems Cox knows all about the tv's that turn pink when connected to the mini boxes. There is some sort of compatability issue with the mini boxes and some HDTVs. Apparently, Cox blames it on the TVs and tells you to call the TV manufacture to "upgrade" and acts like they have never heard of this issue before.
Apparently the problem is that when the tv is turned on, it goes solid pink or pinkish with no sound. The issue is that the resolution goes from 1080 to 480 when this happens and you can't change the resolution back to 1080 unless you reboot the mini box.
Some believe that the problem is caused by the tv being turned on AFTER the mini boxes are (since they are on all the time).
Seems like Cox is "working" on the problem in secret, but claims dumb about the situation when faced with it.
Cox, if you have a problem, say you have a problem and that you are working on it. Don't act dumb about these issues and kick the can down the road.

I see you've shared some information as to the findings on the forums here: http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/tv_forum/f/4/p/12775/49448.aspx#49448 and you've found a work around for the time being. You can only repeat this on the Vizio TV, and no other TVs in the home?

I have 3 mini boxes for the bedrooms. The only one that is giving me trouble is the Vizeo. The Dynex works fine and the other is an old tv that is not HD, so of course it doesn't have the HD resolution problem.

Have you attempted to run a coax from the Mini Box to the Vizio HDTV to see if the picture is still pink? I'm wondering if this is happening only through the HDMI connection. Thanks.

Yes, it works through the cable, but it's not an HD picture.

Thanks for the update, as the Pink screen is only happening with utilizing the HDMI Cable. I understand you wouldn't have an HD picture without an HDMI cable. Here is a link to another Forums Thread with the similar topic, and possible options to review for your TV settings:

Cox has does a problem...is called the Mini Box and thier problem is how they deploy it. I believe this is carefully thought out 'product dump' and a nationwide strategy used by various cable providers across the country to bypass old FCC "Must Carry Laws" by using new Encryption Laws to facilitate the product dump an get the consumer to pay for it.
Cox Communications took the opportunity today to victimize me with the "Cox Communications Mini Box Scam". Although I have never used more than 23% of the hard storage in the HD-DVR I rented from Cox, the hard drive failed anyway. So, I thought I would save everyone sometime and drive to the Cox "Solutions Store" and swap the bad HD-DVR for a working HD-DVR. The 'Solutions Store' CSR flatly declared that the Mini Box was required if I wanted to watch TV. He stated this three times in patterned responses to my objections over having to use both a Mini Box and a HD-DVR to watch TV on our one single TV. He then refused to exchange the HD-DVR unless I also accepted possession of a new all digital Mini Box. He then attempted to refuse to do business with me at all. I would not allow the CSR to close the business disagreement by refusing to do business and allowed him to finish the scenario of his sales presentation. He sweetened the bait and switch by silently exchanging the HD-DVR with a Cox Record 6 HD-DVR therefore silently increasing my monthly bill by $8.00. I will not debate the facts of this true story. You are welcome to draw your own conclusions, (no pun intended).

Digital channels are brought to your home through a receiver, A cableCARD, or by Going All Digital, through a Mini Box. All televisions will need one of those devices if you want to continue to receive television service on them. If you're already using a DVR box for the TV, a Mini Box is not needed for that same TV. We'd like to address this further. Please email us at cox.help@cox.com. Please include your address, which store you went to, and the name of the rep.
Thank you,
