I am frustrated every time I try to "forward" or "reply" to a message. My reply takes forever to load, then I have to click on "plain" to generate a window pain to write. Also, the original content is not included in the reply or forwarded message.

The problem your having isn't actually with Webmail but with running a Java applet (small program) that the site uses for adding fonts and links to text. I actually couldn't get it to work when I went to go test it before writing this post. Even after I update my own Java . So in short, it's broke. But you can change that from being the default in Settings > Preferences > Do you want to always compose messages using the graphical editor? > Uncheck. The problem being if you forward or reply, it will only be in plain text, and thus no links or pictures.
Another work around might be to try enhanced webmail. That uses Flash instead of Java, so you wouldn't have the issue but you would need to get used to the different UI. And the enhanced UI has some problems is you have use IMAP folders but that isn't anything you would probably run into.
A 3rd option would be to change to a email client like Outlook or Thunderbird. Outlook comes Windows Office, and Outlook Express comes with every OS before Windows 7. After that its Windows Live, or Windows Live Mail, or what ever they want to call it. Thunderbird is a solid email client built by the same people who do Firefox.
