Very slow Internet speeds in Gainesville, FL

Internet speed is very slow since August 24, 2013.  I have contacted support at 888-269-9693 several times and several technicians have come here.  David Lippert, a field service technician, reported that there is an overloaded node that is causing the severe degradation of network bandwidth.  I have also posted this on the Internet here:

Hi chrisr,

We can look into this further, we will need to pull up the account.  Please email us at coxhelp@cox.com, in your email include the name and address listed on the account.  If the field tech found an issue we can see if there was an escalation done on his part.

An escalation was already done.  This is affecting not only I, but several others on this node.  Cox is aware of the problem and taking over a month to fix it.

This is unacceptable.

I have already e-mailed COX Corporate in Atlanta, GA regarding this.

You're not alone. I'm getting about 3 down and 4 up from noon until about 2 am. Service works great at about 6 am (20 down and 4 up) but that's not when it needs to be working. This is doubly frustrating as I have to share the connection with three other roommates.

A tech is coming to my house today, but I don't expect he'll have any useful information.

FYI: getting 8 down and 2 up at 12:30pm today. Still not what we pay for.

Had a tech at my house this afternoon. Reported that all my signals looked fine, should be getting advertised service. No word of an overloaded node. I'm located a few blocks north of UF.

Friend's apartment on SW 13th having the same issue.

This is pathetic. If I'm getting 1/6th of the service I'm paying for, will my bill be 1/6th of the amount I'm being charged?
