TV programming guide

When is the program guide going to match the programs scheduled?  I have tried to record numerous programs according to the program guide yet when I go to watch what I recorded on my DVR, it's an entirely different program.  This has become extremely annoying not to mention I have missed some shows.  It would be nice if someone would do a quality check or something!

Have any specifics? DVR model number? EPG being used? Passport? Trio? Contour? Your location? In all of the years I have been using DVRs, I have never encountered this problem. Are you saying (for example) that you programmed your DVR to record "Dave's Car" from 2pm-3pm, and it recorded "Jane's Bike" from 2pm-3pm instead? Odd, since the program information is provided by a third party (TMS.) If they were as inaccurate as you state, I imagine a whole bunch of complaints would exist. Methinks you better explain exactly what you are doing.

I am using the DVR Scientific Atlantic Explorer 8300 HD / Passport.  And yes, just this afternoon on truTV, I wanted to watch a program that was on at 11:am according to the TV program guide but when I switched to that channel there was a different program airing.  I waited for the next show which again on the guide stated one thing and something different was airing.  I am very familiar with how to set my recorder, I've been a Cox customer well over ten years and I read very well.

Then you realize that discrepancies in the guide data is the fault of the guide data provider, right? Gee, I wonder why others aren't screaming that Passport's data is always wrong?

First, I did not say it was ALWAYS wrong, I said it had been wrong on numerous occasions.  I am semi-retired and it has been sometimes during the day and sometimes during the evening, there has been no specific time.  However, I will now contact Cox themselves, thank you for the replies.

Your VERY first sentence in your FIRST post is "When is the program guide going to match the programs scheduled?" Hmm...that sure sounds more serious to me. Next time it happens, write down a few specifics, such as programmer, time, program listed, program aired, etc. Cox will ask you the same thing (so that they can relay it to the data provider.)
