TV Connect on Windows 10 GA not working

Hello;

I just installed a fresh copy of the Windows 10 generally available release. I then downloaded the Cox TV Connect app and installed it. When I run it, it asks for my user name and password and then displays the guide. However, when I try to view a program, it says "Live TV is only available when you are connected to your home network."

I am on my home network. I am on a computer that was running Windows 8.1 and it worked fine.

I have tried running the program with administrator rights and the problem still exists.

I tried uninstalling, then rebooting, the reinstalling with administrator rights and running it with administrator rights and the problem still exists.

I tried running the program in Windows 8 compatibility mode... still nothing.

Interestingly... I installed the Windows 10 RTM (or 10240 or whatever) three days ago before the GA was released and TV Connect worked. So I am at a loss.

Any suggestions or is Cox working on a new release for Windows 10?

Thanks

Hi Cloraxor,

Thanks for reaching out to us through the Cox Forums. You've come to the right place! We haven't heard of any compatibility issues with Cox TV Connect (CTC) and Windows 10, but can definitely help get to the bottom of this for you. We have a few questions, but we also need to get your account information so we can confirm a few things on our end. Please email this post, along with your full name, address, Cox PIN, the username you use for Cox TV Connect, and the answers to the questions below to my team at cox.help@cox.com.

What version of Cox TV Connect is installed on your computer? Have any modifications been made to the Windows 10 OS since you installed it? Go to whatismyip.com and include your IP address in your email. Reset your modem and router (or Gateway combo device), reboot your computer, and try to log into Cox TV Connect again. Do you get any errors? Log out of CTC, turn off your Wi-Fi, and then turn it back on. Make sure your computer can access several websites, then log into CTC again. What happens?

I apologize for all of the questions, but the answers will lead us to a resolution for you. I'm glad you enjoy Cox TV Connect!

Thank you for your response. However, I just started my computer and opened the program... and it worked! Now... earlier today, Windows downloaded some patches and rebooted the computer. But other than that... I didn't do a thing! So... I am not sure what happened... but it is working now and I am happy! Thank you

Thanks wees41. I wonder if it had something to do with the fact that mine was a clean install. Anyway... I just made another post and explained that it seemingly "fixed itself." So all is good. Thanks
