Totally disgusted with Cox Service

I purchased a Netgear router from Cox and have had nothing but trouble. I called Cox service and the guy had the gall to tell me that he didn't know connectivity and I could get service for 99.00. I told him I'd return it instead. He couldn't care less. The Netgear router is **.

Did your purchase a router or gateway from Cox? I onced used a Netgear CG3000d gateway and I loathed it's performance. If it is a router, which one? There might be some setting that can be adjusted.

Yes, got it from COX. They slowed my download speed to 5mg so it was a forced obsolescence. The service man who installed it knew less than me. And when I called service, I was really upset that the CSR had no idea and cared less that I wanted to return it. I finally got my two pc's connected, but TIVO (yes, in addition to the COX DVR's I have an old TIVO due to a lifetime service agreement) uses a wireless Ethernet adapter and neither(Dlink or AirLink) work. Also, a HP 4620(not old) wireless printer that absolutely will not connect. It should be easy. So. . . what are your ideas?

Still don't know what kind of router you have. What is the model number?

How does the wireless ethernet adapter not work? Does it fail at seeing the network? Connecting? The passphrase/security handshake? Also, what model is the adapter?
