SPEED

I have been a cox internet user for a few years now. I recently moved to a new apartment and I have noticed that my internet speed is not where it used to be. I am paying for the preferred internet service with 50mbps download speeds. I have ran a few speed tests and the highest I have gotten has been in the twenties. Can anyone tell me why this is and how I can obtain faster download speeds?
