My power levels and SNR look good on my cable modem and my tier plan says that I should be getting up to 50Mbps but unfortunately appear to get throttled anytime I get over 25. Any suggestions on how to get closer to the 50 I should be getting?
No splitters and have tried multiple coax cables including hooking directly into the source cable in the basement. If cox techs could take a look at my account that would be great!
Thanks!

I don't believe Cox throttles their internet. They cap it, so you cant go faster then your service tier, but a cap is different than a throttle.
Also, what modem and router do you have? Did you try connecting a PC direct to the modem and running a test that way? 25Mbps is about the limit of WifiG, so I wonder if that is causing part of the problem.

No, I am not close to my data cap.... still under 10GB this month according to the data usage utility here. My router is an Asus AC66U and even if I connect my laptop straight to the cable modem it appears to be throttled down to the 25Mbps that is in my plan. (You know... speedtest.net jumps up to 33Mbps down but then slowly ticks back to 25Mbps before the down test ends) But since they have doubled the preferred tier from 25 to 50 I just wanted a level 2+ tech to check my account to see if there is something wrong with my account if they happen to see this post.
It's a SB5101 btw.
Thanks again.

Yes, this is actually my fiances home and I'm trying to get this taken care of for her. At my apartment I have Premiere and had to post on this forum to get them to change a flag on my account to allow me to double from 50 to 100Mbps.
I called the support phone number a few months ago and they kept telling me that my new modem/router/cables/religious beliefs were the problem for over a week. I posted on here and within 45 minutes some internal person noticed that my account was configured incorrectly and that I should reset my modem one final time and since then I get 120+ consistently. It's pretty nice!
But I digress.... Everything seems fine here and I now think that it's a problem with my (her) account. Just trying to jump through the right hoops here *fingers crossed*
Thanks again.

Then thats the answer. A SB5101 is a DOCSIS 2.0 modem. To get above 25-30Mb you need a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. See more info here.
