SB1641 and Premier Package issues?

Afternoon,

My question is what to do about our internet dropping to no signal or 1-2mb every other day?  We average 23-33mb download, 3-4mb upload when the internet is up.  We have premier, are running a Motorola SB1641, Mac time Caps router, and all Mac computers.  We have had cox techs out, and we are still having the issue.

Doing this every other day, spending an hour or more unplugging, resetting, and calling Cox is lost time and money and we are about fed up and ready to change service...  Is this a modem issue, firmware?   Every time I call the support line, the automated lady transfers me to a tech because theres an issue, the tech has us reset it 2-4 times, some techs are awesome, some need new careers, then it comes back up after 10-15 minutes, fast connection again, then they tell me its our Macs, which don't have an issue at the office, running 50-60mb all day without an issue wirelessly or using a hotspot on go.  When my Iphone5 on cellular data can load faster somedays, I am in need of help here!!

Ideas, suggestions?  Should we get a different modem, is ours not supported and causing communication issues?  It's working great right now, in 10 minutes, might be zero...

Thanks,

Taco

First it would be good to get some signal level's. Page 11 of manual found at http://media.cox.com/support/print_media/internet/equipment/Motorola_SB6141_User_Guide.pdf

1. Open any web browser on a PC connected to your modem.
2. In the Address bar, type http://192.168.100.1 for the Modem Configuration Manager IP address, and
then press Enter.

Then click on Signal on the top. Copy and Paste what you find there into a reply. It sounds like the automated system is detecting that your modem is having some kind of problem and not responding to it's reset commands, and thus transferring you to a Representative. If this is the case, it would help to know what your signal levels are when having the problem and when not having the problem so we can compare, unless its obvious.
