Why is Cox the only provider that does not support Roku channels? I can watch History, Discovery, etc. on my Cox Cable, but have to get authorization from my provider to watch on Roku. Cox is not listed on the list of providers so those channels are not available to me if I choose to use the Roku TV.

I'm sure you have an online Roku account. You can quickly add the channel via the website without having to choose your provider.
To duplicate your request, I logged into my Roku account...navigated to the History Channel...and clicked Add Channel under it's logo. However, there is no option to remove the channel from my online account. I suppose I'll have to do that from my Roku device.

I can add the channel to my Roku account, but when I go to watch a movie on that channel, it says I must have authorization from my provider. Roku gives me an authorization code, tells me to log on, via computer, to (whichever, i.e) history.com/authorize ...at that point, it gives me a drop-down of cable providers. Cox is not on that list of providers. If not on the list of providers, I can't use the authorization code and can't access the channel.

I had to go through that process to add my premium channels, such as HBO GO, but not for the free channels. Again, I added The History Channel and watched a show called Dickering. I didn't have to go through the authorization process.
It's odd you have to authorize the free channels. I have the Roku 3 if that means anything.
Maybe verify your info on your Roku account.

Okay...I duplicated your obstacle. It depends on which program you select. I selected another program and I was informed to Link to My Provider.
Cox isn't listed on the List of Providers on the History Channel website. Under the FAQ on the History Channel website, the only explanation is "New providers are being added all the time, so if you don't see your provider today check back soon."
There was a lot of obscure providers...but not Cox. Odd.
I'm sorry I wasn't any help.

I have submitted your request to add the Roku option. As with any additional services, there is a cost associated with it from the Network. Check your statement under the title News from Cox for any updates.
