Recordign a series

You might at least tell us what DVR and firmware (IPG) you are using.

I do not know where to find any DVR or firmware identification. I'm a novice at the whole thing. I recently got COX cable and can't seem to get a clear answer to what I perceive to be a pretty simple question. Where do I find a prompt that allows me to record a series like Castle or NCIS like I could with Directv.  I have had to record shows one at a time. VERY frustrating.

We can't answer because we don't know what kind of box and guide you have. Does this link help?

Uh, the DVR model number is on the DVR's front panel. 8240HDC? 8642HDC? 8742HDC? 9865HDC?

It is very easy to record a series if you follow the prompts in the guide, whether it's Passport or Trio (Contour.)

The steps should be the same whether you have Rovi or Trio. There are two ways to set a series recording. You can use the guide and find a future show, hit "Select" or "Record". Also, while watching a show, you can hit "Record". You should have the option to "Record This Show" or "Record This Series". If not, can you verify what options you do have?
