Record more than 2 shows at the same time

When two shows are recording at the same time and we want to watch a 3rd show, we have to stop recording one show in order to do this. What are our options?

I assume you have a 2 tuner Cox DVR, you can trade it for a 6 tuner DVR at a cost of $8 additional per month.  That will give you the option of recording 6 shows at once or recording 5 and watching a sixth.

Or, you can go direct from cable with a splitter if your area has not gone all digital yet ... if you are all digital you can use a minibox to watch the 3rd program while your DVR is recording 2.  Additional cost $2/mo for the minibox.

3rd option is replacing the Cox DVR with at 4 tuner TiVo.  Cost: $300 for a referb TiVo and lifetime subscription and $2/mo for a cable card but you eliminate the approx $20/mo Cox DVR rental and service charge.

This would be my 1st Choice,  Cox and TiVo are starting to roll-out OnDemand on TiVo also.

Current TiVo Sale will not last much longer:

Thanks for your input. Since my husband and I are already paying the $20.00 for month for the 2-recording DVR, the best option is for us to opt for the $8 additional. Appreciate you both taking time to answer,.
