reception issues
I have HD channels that look like the old rabbit ears reception. I have channels that are supposed to be HD that blank out mid show, and lower half is garbled. Tried to call or use CHAT but over 10 min wait on phone and chat is too busy. anyone else in Phoenix with same issues? Or any COX people here with a solution? Tried rebooting the box. My CISCO box is not hot and breathes fine. Only had cable TV for 3 months and ready to drop it if can't get this fixed.

Hi POd in Phoenix,
Perhaps I can assist you with this issue. Are you experiencing this problem on just the HD channels? Can you give us an example of some channels in which you're seeing this on? If you were to tune to the SD version of the channel, are you experiencing any technical issues with it? Please advise as we want to assist in resolving this.

Sorry haven't been able to get back online until now. Tech came out last monday and replaced the box, but still losing signals worse now than in past. current example is 1181. in the middle of show, lost signal not just that channel, but all channels. directory only has about 3-4 hrs of data. Can't believe I am paying over $100 for bad television and internet that cuts out randomly for "Server updates". If I follow the excuses I get on the phone, your infrastruction is the worst I have ever seen.

"i definitely understand and i'm so sorry for the inconvenience and i totally understand .......... (silence) ummm, is there anything else i can help you with?"
the worst cable experience. nothing else comes close even cable circa 1990's! the sole reason i even considered COX for internet and cable was to watch English and Spanish football games through ESPN, Foxsports, BeinSport and NBC sports. i a week's time i was able to watch One of those channels and catch not a single game. tech support was as helpless as i was. a technician was due to visit and attempt to fix the problem but never called whilst i waited 2 hours. even more surprising was that neither telephone employees nor Sean a supposed "solution" specialist at the "solutions" store at 205 N 80th Street cared that my experience was so bad i wanted to cancel service. canceling service was the easiest process in the whole mess. no one seemed to care to keep my business and all i heard was "i understand unfortunately we cannot do anything for several days until a technician visits in several days."
in the past, Xfinity rushed someone over and had a rebate ready to go. Direct tv pretty much is willing to price match. Cox, sat around apologizing. i lost an entire day troubleshooting and calling 4 different people who could only think of re-booting the darn box, which fixed nothing. now i got rid of cable to avoid an $80 bill that would be a waste and i'm sternly considering canceling internet to no longer pay Cox for any service. i visited a local dining establishment to try and watch a bit of the channels i thought i paid for and they too had cancelled Cox and signed up with satellite. seems Cox has a lot of bugs to fix within their Omaha network and personnel. expect this complaint to be submitted to local papers and blogs.

worst cable experience: "the worst cable experience. nothing else comes close even cable circa 1990's!" [much ranting snipped.]
So...your technical question is ???
See, this is a forum for Cox TV customers with technical questions. A) You are no longer a Cox TV customer, and B) instead of a technical question, you had a rant.
Bye!
