If I already have an HD receiver and I'm wanting to get contour DVD, can I still use the current had receiver I have for a second tv or do I need to get a mini box instead?

No such animal as a "Contour DVD." Assuming you meant DVR, no - you do NOT need to get a mini-box.

Just to add on to what Domino said, you can rent a DVR and move the HD receiver to another TV, but then you will have to pay for 2 receivers a month. Renting a mini box is cheaper then a HD box, so if the second TV isn't HD, a mini box will work, but it may not give you all the same channels. If money isn't as much a issue, I suggest not getting a mini box if you don't have to. They are cheap for a reason.
PS. How come I never see you over on the Internet Forum Domino? I feel bad posting over here sometimes, because it kind of feels like your "space". You are welcome to come over to Internet if you want. We could use your... "direct" way of handling things.

Too little spare time. As this forum is quickly turning into a mini-box question forum, I will be leaving here as well.
