Rate hike

Is anyone else getting tired of all these rate hikes. I started out paying $49.00 a month and now my bill is up to $62.99 a month.

I know here in Kansas we have a business friendly government, but its starting to get crazy. All of my utilities just keep going up

and up.I don't think we even have any regulators anymore. We need to vote these crooks out of office and vote in somebody who will

look after the people for a change.I think its about time for me to start looking for another internet provider.

Hi Madashell,

I recently had to tighten my own family's "budget belt," so I relate to your frustration. Price increases are never fun for any of us! As consumers spend more time online using more bandwidth than ever to support their entertainment and communications needs, Cox's costs for providing broadband service has increased proportionately. Rate increases allow us to deploy new technologies and faster internet speeds to keep up with the demands of our customers.

COX has no competition, they are monopoly. They charge me $60 just for the tech to come out and put a wire, 5 minute job.

Understandably many are trying to reduce expenses, one way to help prevent such charges is to check out our Cox Service Protection Plan.  For a small monthly fee any inside wiring work that may need to be maintained is covered during a tech visit.

Reduce expenses by adding a monthly fee?

Over the course of a year having the Cox Service Protection Plan actually comes out to being cheaper than a single service visit over the course of a year.  For many those does work out to be a significant savings.

Your ripoff company didn't notify us unless it was in the fine print someplace. This will be our last month with Cox.

All accounts affected by an increase in the base rate of services are notified at least one cycle in advance in their bill statement. I'm sorry if you consider this insufficient notice, but I personally believe it's always a good idea to pay close attention to my bills, even paperless ones.

Many people qualify for various offers for existing customers, and it may be beneficial to speak to a representative in your local area.

However, since this is a billing issue and not a technical issue, and per the sticky introductory post this forum is not intended for "billing or other account specific issues," we must direct anyone with billing issues to contact their local support line at the numbers provided here, or contact us by one of the other methods listed in the sticky post.

This off-topic thread will now be locked. Thanks!
