Post Cox Contour upgrade - Stuck on BOOT
After receiving an email late yesterday about a pending Contour upgrade, I got very excited to see that Pandora was going to be added to Contour. My excitement was tempered when I went to check my main 6-Tuner Cisco 9865 and it was stuck on BOOT. Per the Tech Support, I unplugged the unit...waited awhile, and then plugged it back in. Immediately went to BOOT and still stuck. A service tech will come out tomorrow but wanted to check to see if there is any quick resolution to my issue.

Well, I got passed the BOOT sequence by unplugging the HDMI cable and power cycling the unit. Now its stuck on cnfg. I'm going to let it sit awhile since it may be trying to download and install the upgrade.

After waiting... I now have the Clock showing. I can only get to this point without the HDMI cable plugged into the DVR. Once I plug in the HDMI cable, I get no audio or video. My AVR shows no signal coming in from the DVR.
Very frustrating. My guess is the tech will come in and swap the box which means I lose all my recordings. Not good.
Any ideas?

Well, I've now bypassed my AVR and and the DVR is operating as normal. IMO, the update messed up some HDMI handshaking on the 6-tuner DVR.
BTW - My receiver box's are fine with my AVR and HDMI.

I decided to postponed the tech visit.
In my experience, the most likely outcome would be a swap of the DVR box and I have just too much on the DVR to lose. Wish Cox had a solution for this. Meanwhile, I'm running HDMI to the TV and Optical audio to the AVR. It adds one more cable to my setup and a bit more switching but I think my family can handle it until Cox fixes the issue.
