I have three Cox phone lines at home. I use the Phone Tools application online via my laptop and works fine to view call history, listen to and manage voicemails, etc. I have the latest version of Cox Connect 2.3.1 and I'm on an iPhone 6S. Other 6S phones in the house - 3 more - do not have the problem.
All other functions in the Cox Connect app works - TV Listing, Pay Bill, Support , Settings, etc.
I have done the following:
- remove and replace application
- recheck login to make sure it's my primary user name
- restore my entire iPhone - applications and all
Looking at the error history in the app, I see...
Error: 531 Unseen Missed Call Count
Fetch Failed
Date 2016-02-21 21:39:22 (sounds like my last attempt)
Details: Network error occurred while making request ,/telephony/history (and my phone number)
From:Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain
Code=-1001 "The request time out"
and then later on....(too much to type it here)
...NSerrorFailing URLStringKey=https://cg-pub.cox.net/services/rest/3.0/telephony/history/(my phone number)
So I'm kind of thinking that's a name service error or inability to reach a redefined service URL to give me my call history. And "https" is a secure (SSL) type web address.
Any ideas?

For the benefit of this forum, the solution to the problem is as follows:
The symptom or problem definition is:
On iPhone 6S, the Cox Connect application Phone Tools function crashes the application. TV Listings and other functions work fine.
The solution appears to be this:
Go into Settings on the iPhone 6S and open the Cox Connect settings (screen shot below) and turn off the Contacts and Cellular Data toggles. These are apparently set when the application is first started up using prompts asking the user to provide access.
The Cox Connect application then loads phone tools very quickly.
I have noted that if these are turned back on after CoxConnect has been opened, then the Phone Tools application will thereafter load although very slowly but will not crash. The apparent reason for needing my Contacts is it is trying to lookup these phone numbers in my Contacts to provide a name with each phone number. Since I have over 1200 contacts, this may be why it is choking on the size of the file it's trying to load. I have no clue why Phone Tools needs Cellular Data - perhaps someone else can fill in the blanks on that one.

Wow, thank you for providing such complete troubleshooting and problem resolution! I don't know why Phone Tools needs access to your Cellular Data or Contacts, either, but I know that app developers are required to group the different functions of their app into specific categories defined by Google or Apple. If the Cox app has a “contact Cox Technical Support” function, for example, the app may need the ability to place a call. This function may be grouped by Google/Apple into a category that also includes cellular data or Contact info, whether or not the Cox app actually needs or uses those functions. Does that make sense?
It's hard to know whether the app was crashing due to the number of contacts in your address book or due to something else, but I'd like to ensure that our product developers receive your feedback. Please copy the text from your posts on this page, open the Cox Connect app, click on the Settings menu, and then choose "Send your feedback." Paste the text from your posts into the email, and click Send. This email goes directly to our application development and support team, and provides the team with crucial troubleshooting data. Thank you very much!
