Phone outages when it rains

Over the last few months every time it rains we lose service. Rapid busy signal. Must have occurred at least 6 times over the last 3 months. Anyone else having this issue?

Yes, for years I have the same problem - whenever it rains a lot the phone won't have a dial tone but if someone tries to call me it rings busy. Recently I've resorted to plugging in directly to the phone modem. They have been out several times claiming it is my phone or wiring. Now it looks like caller id is messed up as call history shows only my phone number is calling myself. LOL 

Time to cut it off - too frustrating!

Check your phone jacks, make sure there isn't any "dust bunnies" or cobwebs in contact with the metal tines that your phone plugs makes contact with. The two in the center are the ones you talk over. High humidity can cause a high resistance short, giving the symptoms you describe. Also if any of you phone wires are stapled, make sure no staples are through the cable.
