Internet Connection Since Spectrum

I have never had a connection issue with cox. Since spectrum took over, I’ve had multiple instances of my WiFi just stopping . My router stays white and the app says no connection issues. My tv and phone stop loading. It comes back after a few minutes. I don’t have to do anything for it to come back on. I’m not happy with this continuing issue.

Hi, there. I'm so sorry for the issues with your wireless service and I'd like to help. The wireless communication should not have changed at all due to the acquisition, as it is an extension of the router and not the service. We'd want the opportunity to look at it for you. Please reach out to us on Twitter at @CoxHelp, or visit us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/coxcommunications. We'd be glad to look at it for you there. -Chris

Since Spectrum has absorbed Cox, there has been no equipment or personnel changes. That means something else has taken place, so - - -/ What modem/router are you using? If it's the pano, and you a white light, you are online, so that indicates something else going on. Can you see your SSID being broadcast?

I am having the same issue, so are three of my neighbors. Just had a new modem/router installed by cox/spectrum. Nothing changed, still goes in and out all day.

Same - this happens several times a day in xxxx area. Never had a problem with Cox. Have rebooted and power cycled the router.

Agreed.  No problem with Cox in 10 years.  Spectrum goes down several times a week and is currently down again.  Estimated time back on is on four hours.  Awful company.

al_hoenes, we do not want customers to confuse unplanned outages or individual service issues with the Spectrum acquisition. Nothing has changed with your equipment or service delivery to the home and area.  Everything is exactly the same as it was with Cox. Please contact us directly if you would like specific information on what type of issue is affecting your area.

Moderator keeps saying this in reply.  This is obviously not an individual issue.  It’s happening across the … spectrum … to too many of us.

This has been happening to me too and it’s only getting worse.  It’s definitely a spectrum issue.  I had a tech come to my house and replace wiring, I just got a new better modem, same thing.  Paying a lot to basically have no internet and no home functionality every single day.  Gonna have to cancel if they don’t figure this out soon.  What the hell is going on Spectrum?

@davidbagheri Do you have a computer connected via Ethernet? If so, is it seeing the same issue? What modem did you get? What do the lights indicate on it? Is the connection solid? Login to your modem 192.168.100.1 and what are the levels?

Spectrum is throttling us perhaps?  Trying to coax us into plan upgrades perhaps?  Unfair business practice liability incoming … perhaps.

Hi. There has been no change in your service. The only change that has taken place is "paperwork". Nothing has been adjusted or replaced. Please contact us directly, and we will be happy to take a look at your connection.

I agree, I have constant failures, every day. They need to fix themselves and lower the cost. I paid for something to work and it’s down just as much as it works

@lottbm Do you have a computer on ethernet? Is it down also? What modem/router are you using? What do the lights on the modem do when you lose connectivity? I put a new modem in a month ago myself, and here is a partial screen grab from modem statistics. User uploaded image
