I haven't had an incoming/outgoing call logged since last night at 10:40 pm. Are there any techs working on the problem?
This is how I keep track of annoying telemarketing calls since I don't pay extra for caller ID. Can I get a status update please????

Why doesn't Cox mention unreliable services in their awful commercials?

This got me chuckling...
To be fair, no one in their right mind would list significant drawbacks when they are trying to attract more customers. Of course a BIG part of the issues with services like Cox that have little real competition to worry about is there is no incentive to work on these issues or to render meaningful customer service... not to mention no downward pressure on costs. Where are we going to go... DSL? At its worst, cable still trumps that- albeit at rates that wouldn't be possible if there were competition from other cable providers over the same backbone.
Of course it's the cable industry players themselves that set up that backbone so is it reasonable to lend that to players whose primary purpose is to take market share away?.
Cox is not alone in this... it's a cable industry issue that is not currently being dealt with. Cox/Comcast/Time-Warner, etc. are simply operating with8in the parameters of a sweetheart industry environment that. A handful of paying customers might cancel their services but without and real alternatives most will see little choice but to deal with the inconveniences and host of non answers offered when they call customer support and negotiate the lengthy automated stalling tactic menu that forces one to get their billing and account status before playing customer support "lotto" where you have an equal chance of the call disconnecting before a human picks up as you have of actually speaking with someone
I very much feel for the people at the receiving ends of some of the calls- and have had to take a deep breath or two before speaking with a human on my second (and sometimes third) attempt to get information or tech support.... and that's something ELSE they could promote to your point that they should advertise drawbacks... not to be reasonably expected, however.
You want good commercials? Pick an industry that has proper competition and therefore a need to promote services as superior to competition.
An interesting observation here... recently there seem to be numerous "phone history" threads and TBH I came here because I'm experiencing some of the same myself... is the approach for tech support to treat each case as an isolated incident and require PIN numbers and other account specific information when it's fairly apparent that there's a pattern emerging that will not be addressed by putting out spot fires? It seems fairly intuitive to just get regional information and other things that don't divulge needless details about individual accounts and some honest feedback on any progress in the discussions.
BTW- the caller ID function worked on my phone- but the call in question (about eight hours ago) has not shown up on my history.

Can you email some screenshots of the issue that you are running into? Send those to cox.help@cox.com? We will need to forward that information to our escalation team so they have some specific examples of what you're seeing.
