Paying for premier services getting dial up speed

I there a reason I have been getting below 10 download and over 40 upload speed? This mainly happens at night. But if I am paying over a 260.00 cable bill I should get what I pay for. I have been with Cox for over 13 years..... The service guys have been out to my house 5 or 6 times already and still this issue is not fixed...

First, do you have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem? If your not sure, just reply with the model number.

Second, how are you measuring your speed? Speedtest.net or the Cox site?

Last, are connecting direct to the modem, or through a router?

What kind of modem is it? And was it that slow when it was installed?

Cisco modem Model DPC3825 And no it was not always this slow. The service guys who come out always say the connection coming from the modem is fine. One even blamed it on the weather. Our wires around here are not under ground and I have been through hurricanes with my connection before and it was still good.

DPC3925 is not a modem, its a gateway. Meaning it has wireless and routing build in. Do you also have a router connected to it or are you using it alone? I would suggest, if money isn't a issue, to get a stand alone modem like the SB6141 or SB6182 when it comes public and then a router like the RT-N66U/R. At the very least have a technician test with a normal D3 modem and see what tests they get. Could be some networking issue.

First off I pay way to much as it is to Cox for my services to go out and buy a router and modem. At the moment we rent this "gateway" that way it is not our responsibility to replace it if it messes up. I use my Wi-Fi for just my cell phones and tablets but everything else (PC, Xbox One) is hard wired. I have asked it this "gateway" needed to be replaced and they said I have the newest version and that it functions properly.

Wed Jul 2 11:55 AM Yes 157 Mbps 9 Mbps 7 millisec 98.181.38.15 Baton Rouge This is what it should be. Although my upload should be a bit higher like in the 20's. There has got to be a reason the connection drops so much in the evening/night.

Hello Paying for premier getting dial up speed,

The results of that last speed test look good.  What time of night do you normally see the issues with the connection?  We are available 24/7 by phone so if you run into an issue with your connection at an odd hour we would be able to see the issue while it is happening.  Swapping out the device is not a bad idea considering all of the troubleshooting that you have done already.
