So play a lot of MMO's, and recently I've gotten disconnected constantly. I tried using their customer service forums, but was told to contact my ISP.
I also sometimes have problems watching youtube video's in HD.
I'm not super tech savy, but I've a pathping and tracert. Any help is appreciated.

You play SWOR? Cool. Looks like since last patch in early August things have been pretty bad. HTML isn't working on forums right now, so forgive the link, but see http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=669867\\ The latency in the trace seems to be between hop 8 through 10, which if GeoTag data is to be believed, is in NY (and your on West Coast right?).So looks like a issue with the ISP EA is using for it's servers. Assuming latency is the cause of the issue, but I don't see 80ms creating a disconnect. Can you check the game logs for the reason for Disconnect? I wonder if you have to pass random authenticates while playing since the patch and their authentication server can't take the extra load, but thats just a wild guess.

Yes SWTOR is one of several MMOs.
Here is the most recent disconnect area, I hope this is what you're referring too.

Do you get error disconnect code 9000? Not over 9000 mind you
From what I can tell is the server requires ACK on the TCP used for multiplayer which makes the connection sensitive to latency issues. When it works it makes the connection better (kind of) but any bottle neck in the system can cause a issue which forces the client to boot you. This can be caused by lag at the network level, ISP, PC issue, peering issue, etc.
For one, the ISP for the game server is suffering some congestion issue, causing the 40-50ms, see tracert provided. Second, I think since the patch the client has become less efficient at processing ACK from client to PC. Not much you can do about that. But 3, you disable ACK TCP. Basically since the game server requires a flood of ACK traffic, your PC waits up to 200ms before transmitting so it can transmit more then one at once. But that means your computer cant communicate with the server for up to 200ms.
Take that 200ms, add it to the 40-50ms and the natural 40-50ms you get normally and it starts going past the servers max idle before severing the connection. There is a fix to stop the ACK delay, see this link. But its not for the layman and use at your own risk.
