On DEmand

I moved to RI two months ago and HAD to have Cox in my place. I had no choice. I went for the best plan with the most services. My DVR is a nightmare!!!! I hit the ON DEMAND button on the remote and it comes up to the search system and FREEZES. I have to shut the TV off around five times until I can change a channel. Also, when I try to do a search in the guide, I type the letters and it freezes up. What kind  of system is this??? Although I HATED Bright house in Florida, at this moment I would bake them cookies if they would give me their service up here!

GuyzinNP,

I don't want you to feel this way! Were aware of an issue with On Demand freezing and/or erroring and are working to restore and stabilize the service as quickly as possible. How long have you been experiencing the problems you are describing? Are you searching just in the guide when you see freezing there? I haven't seen any reports of issues when searching shows in the guide. What troubleshooting steps have you performed? I'd rather not waste your time asking you to go through steps you have already performed.

Well, we really do feel that way. We had a lot of problems with Brighthouse, but not as many as we have had so far with Cox, and we have only had your service since the beginning of october. We try and watch on demand, IF we get the show, it freezes at the end and we have to reboot the box every time. Also, we are still having the same problem with the guide. I attempt a search, and when I type the letters, it just says "searching". We have to reboot the box. We have had to reboot the box, between on demand and the guide, around a dozen times so far. It is getting into the realm of ridiculousness.

I called Cox two days ago and they actually admitted they've been having problems with On Demand since Dec 26th.  We noticed that OnDemand functions in the middle of the day or after 11 pm at night (AZ time zone) when fewer users nationwide are online, however it's impossible to access during the prime time hours.   What a joke!
