I tried checking the connection from this end however when I look at the modem it's saying the Ethernet connection is inactive suggesting nothing is plugged into it. Can you try connection a device directly to the modem and see if you get better results?

i'm paying for 50M and from Tulsa to Oklahoma City i'm only getting 27.8M (using CAT6 to a linksys 10/100/1000 router and Intel's 10/100/1000 chipset) ... ?!? ... so why am i being overcharged OR not getting what i pay for?

In your particular case when I check the modem is only showing a 100Mbps Ethernet link. If you have a router with gigabit Ethernet connected I think there is a problem with the connection between the two. Could you try connecting a PC with gigabit Ethernet directly to the modem and see what happens? Note you'll need to push the reset button on the modem after connecting the PC for the Internet to work again.
