I want to get to the bottom of this for you! Were you able to watch video via the Contour 2 app prior to getting the "out of home" error? Are you using an iPad, Android tablet, or going to https://watchtv.cox.com via a web browser? Does your tablet (or computer) show that you are still connected to your home network?

I have downloaded the app to a Iphone 6 and a Samsung Galaxy tablet. This started with the old contour app and is still happening on contour 2. They both are connected to my home wifi. Tablet is wifi only.

I would suggest visiting http://www.whatismyip.com from both a wired device and the device you're trying to view on and see if you get the same IP address in both browsers.

That most likely is the problem then. If you visit http://www.whatismyip.com you should see the same IP address if you're on the same home network. If you are in fact seeing a different result from the wireless device you aren't connected to your home router.

Is it on that website link I gave you that they're all showing different? If they're all on the same home network they should all match when you go to that site.

yeah the are all on the same network used same link for all 3 devices still all different ip addresses not sure if there is a router setting that can be changed. the city is atlanta georgia isp cox communications on my iphone on whatismyip.com. Laptop wired says i am in maize ks isp cox. which is close i am in park city ks. When i go to cox.net a run a speed test on my wired laptop it says "Your current Internet connection is not on the
Cox network".

This wouldn't be a router setting. The router only gets 1 IP address from us and that is the IP address that will be shown by that link if you're connected to your home network. From everything you've described it sounds as though some of the wireless devices have wandered onto other networks.

All my devices are on my network. On cox.net when I run a speed test on my WIRED laptop it says i am not on a cox network and when i go to the contour website to watch something on my WIRED laptop it says available to watch i home only not connected to home network. So i would say this issue is either an ip address issue or a Cox issue.

If your wireless devices aren't showing the same IP address as the wired devices when you visit http://www.whatismyip.com it sounds like there is a problem with the home network that needs to be addressed. The only reason for this to happen that I'm aware of is the wireless devices aren't connected to the same network. One thing you could try is bypassing the router and seeing if a wired device connected directly to the modem has this problem.
