I have the Premier package, but I am consistently getting around 40Mbs instead of the 100Mbps advertised. I have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. I've rebooted it, and made sure all the cables are secure, but I continue to get the slower speeds. Is there anything else I need to be doing?

@excellentarcher,
Are you using a wireless or wired connection?

Currently the computer is connected using a wired connection.

I'd suggest testing without the router in place as well. Internet speeds through routers even on wired connections are limited by the router's ability to translate packets. I'm seeing hints on this end that the router currently connected may not be as fast as the Internet connection you have with us.

Exactly the same issue here. Have only had the service for 2 days, but use speedtest a few times a day to check speed. Never been above 32mbps, averages about 30.
Brand new DOCSIS 3.0 modem. Netgear WNDR4000. Wired connection.

My speedtest results over the last 2 days
Strangely enough, results are consistent whether I am wired or wireless.

I have tested both wired and wireless connections and both timeout before commencing the upload test. I am currently unable to upload period and as a professional Photographer its greatly affect my business. I have uncontrolled periodic periods where my cox service is unable to provide even close to the service promised in preferred account.
Admittedly I have no issues with my download speeds and its the upload speeds that are the problem. I have replaced the modem and replaced the router with devices listed as devices supported. I have had techs out twice and they have been unable to discern the problem. I truly wish cox could deliver 50% of what they advertise.

The service codes and firmware for the modem appear to be correct, the downstream levels are also normal and bonding the upstream for the speeds is also fine though one channel is a little low for upload it should not effect the overall speed. Are you testing the speeds hardwired there or wirelessly?

Currently wireless as the system I need is wireless. I have another wired connection.
When I do speed check I consistently get around 30mbps download and it times out on the upload.
I have pinged several servers and response time has been fast as expected.

By chance is your wireless connection wireless-G? If so that would probably explain the inability to surpass 30Mbps.
