No more Network HD without Cable Box in Tucson?
Since Saturday my HDTV connected to Cox directly via coax (without cable box) no longer receives HD network channels like NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX. I re-scanned for channels to no effect.
Is there something wrong with my setup or do I now simply need a cable box to get these channels in HD?

The Toshiba manual says to delete the channel before re-scanning. Have you tried this step? QAM channels are mapped in such a way that they can change frequencies. Also, the HD channel will only be available if the local network is broadcasting in HD at that time. The HD channels are broadcasted at 256QAM instead of 64QAM and you want to make sure the TV can support them. The owner's manual is for 2 TV models and you can check with Toshiba to confirm that your TV is capable of picking up 256QAM.

Are you having this problem on more than one TV? Is the cable straight from the wall or is there a splitter? What type of TV do you have? Please confirm the model number to further investigate.

Thanks for asking! The cable is coming straight from the wall without a splitter. The TV model # is Toshiba 19AV500U and it had been receiving HD Network Channels without problem until this past weekend. My other TV in the other room is hooked up via a cable box and so isn't having an issue.

Thanks for the help. I ran the re-scan function again and I now get the networks in HD again. Weird. I tried a couple times over the weekend and yesterday. Anyhow it is working.
