Nextstar and Cox Billing

Since Nextstar in blacking out its stations, and Cox is not delivering the programming that I pay for, why has my cable bill not been adjusted downward to compensate for the loss of that programming?  After all, when the Advocate misses a delivery of my newspaper, they compensate me by extending my subscription.  Should Cox do anything less?

In reply to this post and to add my voice to the concerns, I have a slightly different perspective. But first, let me express my support that Cox should provide compensation / reimbursement for what is essentially "incomplete servicing to my subscription." As noted, an extension of services and/or credit to the customer account is appropriate and called for. My other perspective is this. . .Why is any geographic area limited to specific stations - especially given the apparent clout that specific providers have to result in the loss of services?? In a major metro area, it's partly understandable, but in Northwest Arkansas (where TWO stations - affiliates with Fox and NBC are out of service due to financial negotiations) we have nearby accessibility to Fox & NBC stations as well as CBS & ABC (just to name the major networks) from Springfield MO and/or Tulsa OK. In fact, we have an ABC affiliate as our "core" programming in Northwest Arkansas from Tulsa. Why can't Cox "exchange" our programming even temporarily to ensure no loss of services by tapping these alternative stations and/or markets? OR why not use that leverage to simply advise the adversarial stations / providers such as NexStar that their failure to cooperate is a terminating circumstance?? They certainly did not hesitate to recommend that clients switch to Dish Network or Direct TV!!! I am a longstanding Cox customer and plan to remain so, but this lack of foresight and response is why I am "RiledinRogers" AR!!!

Here's your compensation model.

Local network affiliates are most likely receiving less than $1 per Cox customer per month.

So let's just round way up to $1/mo, this dispute may last for a few days to possibly a week, two weeks at most.

So your reimbursement will be less than 3 cents per day,
