New Samsung tv and Cisco remote

Couldn't get Cox provided Cisco 8820 remote to operate both tv and cable box, i.e., tv on/off worked with most codes on remote but volume & channel buttons didn't.  Called support and we tried every code listed for Samsung with no joy.  On Cnet forum found code 10060 - despite being 5 digits, it worked.  Now one remote runs both tv and cable box.
