C'mon COX Arizona! I put you up on a pedestal since 2007 and now I wouldn't recommend you over Net Zero. What's is going on? Could you at least let us know so we might up grade our gear or are we expected to just keep restarting our internet using the unplug your gear method?
Surfboard 586121, on your approved modem list, and Apple Airport Extreme. Started approximately 3 weeks ago (once a day in the early evening) and now I get to do it as many as three times a day. Haven't heard a thing from COX "Communications" as to what is or might be going on. Issue has been addressed in the Internet Forum but has yet to be addressed.
Has it something to do with gigablast? Is my equipment getting old suddenly? Please don't keep us in the dark "communicate" with us.
Thank you in advance for your expeditious handling of this post.

I think I'd be just as frustrated if I had to reset my equipment that many times a day, so I truly apologize. Have you tried bypassing you Apple Airport Extreme and see if the disconnects continue with the modem connected directly to a computer? You mention in another thread that you subscribe to the Premier tier. The Motorola SB6121 is capable of bonding to only 4 downstream and 4 upstream channels, so it isn't the best choice for Premier tier subscribers. Have you had a service call lately?

Becky,
My service has been fine up until this issue began just recently. I'm not a tech guy by any stretch so that contributes to my frustration because I don't know how to talk the talk.
This afternoon and evening, Dec 22nd, there was some improvement. I only had to restart my modem not both my modem and router. Don't know who to thank for that. Yesterday, I did an online chat with technician Michael N and he refreshed my modem? I don't think that made any difference because the morning of the 22nd I had to restart both modem and router.
I've been doing some research and this started, I'm thinking, about the same time Apple came out with the latest upgrade of OS X El Capitan so I'm trying to see if they've got some router updating that needs to be done.
No service call for internet since I started with Cox in 2007. Like I said everything was working just fine. I've been running two iPhones, two iPads and an Apple TV with my airport extreme and current modem without a problem.
I guess I need to work on my patience...a little. I just want the quality of service I've come to expect from Cox and I want it now!!
Any help with this issue is appreciated. If I need to upgrade this or that I'll do it if it will fix this problem.
