First of all thank-you Cox for upping data limits to 1TB - awesome.
Can you give a ballpark figure on how much data a home security camera uses that connects to wifi and if there are any special setting we should pay attention to? The data is stored in a cloud but the camera can also be used on demand.

The answer really depends on how you are using your security camera. Worst case, if you are using cloud storage as dvr storage and streaming your camera to the cloud 24x7, you will burn thru data ... 1GB or more per hour, depending on resolution (SD or HD) and frame rate (fps), You could go thru 750 or more GB/mo doing this.
If you are set for a motion/sound trigger and upload stills when it's triggered, you will use much less bandwidth. A typical SD still jpg is 40 to 50kB, HD may run 100kB each. This case, you should be under 10GB/mo. again depending on how often it's triggered and how many stills are uploaded each trigger.
Sorry I can't be more specific, post details about your camera (resolution, fps) and how you are using it. Maybe I can help more.

The only thing I might add here is you could probably contact the camera's technical support group and get a more specific answer to this question.

Thanks for the answers and explaining. That info helps a lot. They are motion triggered. I have 2 already but am adding some different types of cameras so just needed some more info to be able to figure it out.
