New contour box
I got the new contour 2 box and like it, but the caller ID does not show up!? Plus I don't see any settings for it??
What happened to the caller ID?

We are aware the TV Caller ID feature is not currently available for Contour 2. There hasn't been an ETA as to when this feature will be available.

What is caller ID?
I just upgraded to a Contour DVR, but still have my older Motorola DCH 3416, which has readout problems. I'll watch all recorded programs, and then decide what to do with it.
The remotes are identical in appearance, but each only operates it's own DVR - very convenient when using the DVR's, but confusing during initial setup when I accidentally used the old one. Tech support didn't realize they differed.

DustinP, thanks for your links. I have the Cisco Explorer 9865HDC High Definition DVR Receiver you linked to aand have had it for 2.5 years now.. Does that mean I have Contour 2? If that's all Contour 2 is, what is Contour 1?

I think that the DVR Contour boxes and software, are total pieces of garbage and here's why.
1: Can only search for a program within a 36 hour window, and you'd better know exactly how the title is worded or it won't show up. Case in point, try searching for a NASCAR race.
2: Once you set a program to record, without deleting the recording, there is no visible way to set it to a serial recording, so that means you have to wait until the next week to set it. See point #1
3: To view a recorder program now takes 4 steps? 1: Select recorded programs list, 2: Select Program, 3: Read about program <Hey here's a clue I know what I recorded, 4: EUREKA! finally get to watch the program.
4: Tried to use the web page to try and set a serial recording (See Point #2) and again there is no visible way of doing that. At least this time I was able to set a recording and it actually showed up on my DVR! HOORAY!
5: Time issue: As posted in another forum time on Contour box is always off by a minute or two, Show starts at 2, and the Contour box show 1:58? WTH!
6: With over a 100 Million Windows 10 users out there and who knows how many in Cox's service area one would think that there would be a Windows 10 UWP app. Well?

Caller ID is a feature that allows you to see who's calling your home. If you have Cox Essential telephone service or higher in conjunction with Advance TV service or higher, then you have the option to have caller ID feature to come directly to your TV set. You will need to have a compatible receiver connected in order for this feature to work.

Thanks for your feedback regarding your found concerns with your Contour experience. Cox is working to improve the search and guide experience with the New Contour and the convenience to access DVR titles. At this time, the Contour 2 App is available, but is not yet able to record remotely, however I'm glad to hear you were able to access our website to program a remote recording at this time. There is no available information regarding your request for a Windows 10 UWP Contour App.
