my remote Contour loses the picture and sound reliably after 20 minutes

and then intermittently the rest of the evening. Got any suggestions?

Does the receiver reboot after you lose the picture and sound? Is the cable straight from the wall to the receiver or is there a splitter?

No, the receiver doesn't reboot. The picture and sound just suddenly reappear. And no, there is no splitter. It's like the main box feeding the mini stops, or loses the stream.
