Mocha and contour boxes

I have been using multimedia over coax mocha pass through devices on my coax lines for several years so that I can have high speed internet everywhere I have a coax connection. Instead of wireless or power line. Since I upgraded to the contour boxes I have been getting interference on my tv signals..anyone have suggestions?

What MoCA adapaters are you using? For example, the ActionTec ECB3500T uses the fallowing frequency pass.

-Coax/MoCA D Band: 1150-1625 MHz
-Coax/MoCA E Band: 500-600 MHz

While most providers use the D band. So if you can just switch your adapaters to the E band, I would think it would work. The problem is that might interfere with some of the cable channel signal. So if your trying to fit cable TV, cable internet, MoCA E and MoCA D on one coaxial...well you might have issues. Anyone here have experience doing this?

Also, you might want to refer to this. It explains the issue pretty well. I will dig around and see if I can find the specs for the Contour receivers.

Unfortunately there really isn't any Cox approved solution for this type of configuration.  The whole home DVR uses MoCA therefore you're likely seeing a combination of issues resulting from MoCA RF interference and placement of MoCA filters.  You could likely try configuring your MoCA devices to use different frequency ranges however placement of filters could remain an issue.

So why can't I hook Ethernet to the port on the back of the contour box? That would make it simple

Ethernet is not enabled. And while that might be easy for you, most people don't have ethernet run through their house.

If I knew what kind of MoCA adapters you have, I might be able to find simpler instructions. The article I linked was more of a official over view. Its a boring read.

One place to start with the MoCA adapters might be the manufacturer's website.  I once tinkered with some made by TP-Link and they had an installable utility for Windows which once installed you could reconfigure a MoCA adapter connected directly via Ethernet.  Repeat for each adapter then install and test.
