Missing E-Mails

While out of town last week, I checked my Cox Web-mail, reviewed several e-mails, and then logged out. When I arrived home, I again checked my e-mail (Outlook). At least one of the e-mails reviewed on Web-mail was missing. I checked all the usual suspects: Deleted, Spam, and Junk folders for both Web-mail and Outlook. Nothing. Has anyone ever experienced this and knows how to have Cox reset e-mails from their server from a specific date. Is this even possible? Thanks.

Hi, Tiffany R, thanks for responding.

Yes, this is very strange. I've been using Cox for over 10 years and don't recall losing any e-mails. But, I guess there's always a first time.

As I said before, I checked all possible places the wayward e-mails could have gone: Spam, Junk, Deleted Folders on both  Outlook and Cox. Nada. I opened a ticket with Support but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Again, thanks for responding. If you have any other ideas, let me know.

No, Tiffany, no new e-mail clients. The only e-mail client I have is my computer. No smart phone, tablet, or what have you. I've "chatted" with support; they said they'd look into it, but could not promise results.

I guess I could ask my friends at NSA for a copy. :-)

Thanks.

Checked the other e-mail account (wife's). Found nothing. Also checked my security/anti-virus software. Nothing there either.

Thanks for checking.

Thanks, but I've been there and done that. It was the first thing I did.

While it may not help you find the lost emails I'd suggest changing your email password.  This will help you find any rogue email clients at least as how they won't have the new password.

I have had it both ways. Some messages were lost, while others were delivered to my client Outlook 2 or even 3 times.
