Mini box

The mini boxes don't work with the starter lineup.   If you have a higher tier tv lineup, then you'll get all your channels with the mini box.  This is, of course, a ripoff.  If you have the starter tv lineup, you'll have to upgrade to the $8.50 a month rental for the better tuner box.  Yes, that's $8.50 + tax per box as opposed to $2.99 a month for the mini box, per box

I understand that all TV's will need a device. I don't know if you can get by using only mini boxes or if you need at least one full size converter cable box. That's what I have, one big box on one tv and mini boxes on all others. However not all channels will be visible via the mini box. Look to the channel lineup. The channels that require a full size converter box are marked (*). For example you can't watch HBO via a mini box.

Shamushuffle: If you subscribe to TV Starter, you should get all of the channels in the TV Starter lineup found at www.cox.com/mychannels. What channels are you missing?

LBen: The mini boxes are only able to tune channels within the TV Starter, TV Essential, and the Faith & Values tiers, plus some of the Music Choice channels. If you subscribe to other channel tiers or premium channels like HBO and you want to be able to watch them on a TV currently connected to a mini box, you'll need to return your mini box and rent an Advanced TV receiver instead.
