Besides unplugging it is there any way to shut a mini box off?

No, you should leave it on and plugged into a non switched outlet. Takes very little power. It would have to "reload" itself every time it is turned back on which could take time depending on how good your signals are. Cycling it on and off repeatedly will cause problems. My neighbor had that problem...

I agree with Buck's suggestion. That's the way I have mine set up, as well. The mini boxes are Energy Star 3.0 compliant.

Thank You I just didn't see the logic in leaving something on 24/7 that I don't use more than 3 or 4 hours a day, and 2 of the 4 that I have I don't use that much.. Maybe I will just leave those two unplugged, they do get very hot on the bottom.
