Mini Box

Will the new mini boxes support same channels as an existing package?

Say if one has the sports package, will all mini boxes added to service support those channels also?

As in if one has entended basic package, will all the added mini boxes also catch those channels?

No, just "Starter" and "Essential"

ripoff: "Say if one has sports package, will mini box all support those channels?"

No. But those with sports packages already have regular HD receiver.

Cox has no "extended basic" package. Please explain.

Hi ripoff,

If there are any remaining questions you may utilize the forums, or even our website for more Mini Box info. Here is a link for some basic info on the Mini Box and components.

Cox does have expanded service in Hampton Roads area of VA. Clearly stated on my Cox bill.

Cox advanced TV

Includes:

Cox TV starter

Expanded Service

Faith & Values Pak

Advanced TV Service

It seems there are many different service names used around country, which might or might not correlate with other areas (another confusing issue). I don’t know if Expanded here is same as Essentials somewhere else.

So you are claiming that "Expanded Service" is actually "extended basic"? Odd that neither of those terms are mentioned at:

Hi Don318,

The mini boxes are an extension of the direct to set channels. You will get the channels that you were already getting straight from the wall. If you want to get the higher digital tier channels, you will need to get a digital receiver instead of a mini box.

Domino,

That is exactly what I was trying to point out. Even Cox has varying service terms (even printed material that is confusing). No where on my bill or service description when logged into my account (Cox Site) is Essential mentioned. What I typed here is an exact quote of services always listed on my  paper bills. From listed channel lineup I know I get the Essential channels but not because Cox makes it clear on my account/bill etc. It takes detective type work on my part; I have to ASSUME that Expanded Service listed in account is Essentials on listing.

StephanieA,

Thanks for your reply, I was aware of what I would be receiving. I was trying to help Domino understand what he sees (or thinks) is not always what other customers are seeing.

What is on your bill is not necessarily what you have. For example, my bill says I have a GSH8642. We both know that device doesn't exist. Point being, what Cox calls something on the bill is quite irrelevant.
