Mini Box doesn't recognize t.v.
I setup the mini box and I did everything I was supposed to. I tried 4-5 times with the two methods offered but the remote couldn't recognize my t.v. I have a Sony HDTV 4-5 years old. I saw similar posts but they were about older t.v's

Are you trying to program the Cox remote to your TV or the Sony remote to the mini box. What steps have you do to try and get the remote programmed?

I said in the beginning that I setup the mini box and I tried the two methods provided to program the remote.
I did whatever it says here:

I don't know how else to describe what I did.

Your title should read: Remote Doesn't Recognize TV.
What is the URC-2220-R NOT doing? Not powering the TV off and on and adjusting volume?
You tried both methods with the two codes: 0810 and 1685.
Ensure there is no obstacle (sticker, dirt, direct sunlight, mini box) is blocking or interfering the IR sensor on your TV.
Install new batteries in the URC-2220-R. The current batteries may have enough juice to blink the lights but not to beam a signal.
Exchange the remote at a Cox Service Center. Note the codes and maybe they'll program it for you.

Sony code is 8. That's what I did. Then I did a run through all the codes, waited a few minutes but nothing happened.
There is no obstacle. I sat 6 feet from the t.v and the mini box and I aimed at the mini box. The batteries are fresh out of the plastic and I am able to perform other functions with the remote. Except for t.v related functions.
I'll try again with the codes you gave me. If it doesn't work I will either call support or get a new remote. Although I doubt the problem is with the remote.
Thanks.

Code 8 would be the Popular Brands method (Setup Method A)...but it didn't work on your older TV.
Codes 0810 and 1685 would be for the Direct Code method (Setup Method C)...and hopefully that will work.
Thanks for confirming the batteries and obstacles.
