I just read this article about loss of Internet connect in July.
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/04/23/hundreds-thousands-may-lose-internet-in-july/
Is this something COX should be aware of?

Hello Lara,
Thank you for reaching out to us about this. We were made aware of this quite a while ago. We've been working to make sure there is as little impact as possible to our Cox customers.

Hi Lara,
DNS Changer Malware, like all malware, is something all computer users should protect themselves from. Every computer in your home should have security software installed that is kept up-to-date and that is set to run scans automatically. Most experts agree that using “layers” of computer security is the best way to control your risks on the Internet.
No safeguard is perfect every time, so you should have a few layers of protection when you are using the Internet. Take for example your own home security; as a prudent homeowner you protect your home and family in several ways. You lock the doors and windows, you maintain smoke detectors; perhaps you also have an alarm system. If things go wrong, you have a fire extinguisher, and 911. You have insurance as the final layer of security to help pick up the pieces after a mishap.
Cyber security works the same way. Having only one security tool is not enough – you will need a few layers of security to protect yourself from internet threats. The article you referred to contains a link with great info: http://www.dcwg.org/. You can also get more information from http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. Microsoft Security Essentials is a good starting point and it's free!
