I had Cox Limited Basic with my analog cable (Fairfax, VA). Then started to lose channels as Cox wanted me to make the switch to Digital and get the boxes.
I installed the boxes, and still didn't get the lost channels back and lost even more. I called customer support and they said that's just the way it is. Apparently I was getting those channels for "free" when I had analog.
So the channels I lost include: ESPN, Fox Sports, AMC, FX MTV, VH1, Animal Planet, Discovery, Food Network, HGTV, Spike, E!, CNN and many more.
Now I have Cox TV Starter with digital cable. You know, the digital that's supposed to be better where they state customers wouldn't lose anything. If they really wanted me to have an equivalent switch to digital I believe I should be getting Cox TV Economy as I look up the channel lineups. Shouldn't that be the case? instead of gutting what I had and telling me that's the way it is?

Neither Starter or Economy include the sports networks like ESPN or Fox Sports. Economy does include some of the other networks you mentioned. The question is ... are you getting what you are paying for? Not, are you not getting what you previously had because Cox corrected a mistake. Do you really think it's fair for you to get for free what others customers pay for?

If your subscription was for Limited Basic the channels you mentioned you lost were not a part of your paid subscription. It sounds like your line may not have been trapped properly at the beginning. Since the transition, you will only have access to the channels you pay for. We can certainly look into getting you these channels, however you will need to subscribe to them in order to do so. If you would like to add this package, please email our team at cox.help@cox.com and include your full name, street address and a link to your post here.
