I signed up with a long distance carrier some time ago and on their end, they said everything was done and that I would hear from Cox. Never heard anything and still don't have long distance usage months later. I don't really need it except for faxing, but it would be nice to have. Why would Cox not enact this or not respond?

I have no idea now, can't find anything on it. I contacted them once and asked about why it wasn't implemented and they said it was all done on their end and waiting on Cox. I emailed Cox about it once and never received a reply so I just dropped it.

It should say right on your bill who your LD carrier is. Basically who ever is charging you money.

If it's not on your bill, if your not paying someone for LD, then you don't have LD. Must just have Cox as your local carrier. Who do you want as your LD carrier? Maybe call them?

There is a number on the FCC website you can call to verify your service providers. It's included in the Slamming Guidelines and here's a link to get you started.
